Installation of money-saving electric thermal storage heating systems

Commonplace in European homes, electric thermal storage (ETS) heating systems can help you save up to 50 percent on your electric heat bill by taking advantage of off-peak electricity rates.

ETS heating systems consist of high-density ceramic bricks heated to a high temperature with electricity overnight, and well insulated to release heat slowly throughout the day.

During peak hours, the power is shut off and an electric fan begins moving the heat from the brick to heat the home. A thermostat monitors room air temperature and regulates heat delivery as needed, providing comfort 24 hours a day. The amount of heat stored in the brick core of the heater is regulated in relation to weather conditions.

Unlike old-fashioned systems that don't have a heat storage feature, ETS systems save you money because the heat being stored is purchased at a lower cost for release.

Electricity or hydro rates peak during the day, while the lowest costs typically occur from 11:00pm to 7:00am when hydro companies drop their rates as much as 60 percent. It is during this time-of-use (TOU) period that the ETS system is activated.

There are no worrying fumes, toxic smoke, or gooey mess! This innovative heating system makes the most efficient use of power generation, transmission, and distribution. It can also be used with renewable energy sources such as solar and wind.

These reduced rates provide considerable savings on energy costs as compared to alternative heating options. A great electrical heating solution for northern Ontario homes, businesses, cottages, and camps!

The ETS system can be installed as several single units throughout the home, and also comes in a Forced Air Furnace model to replace existing furnaces (electric, propane, oil, natural gas) or as a new heating system.
